The Cravery was born in the heart of lockdown 2020, when the world stood still—but kindness didn’t. Co-founders Mrs. Kamila and Mr. Kandanchira, a husband-and-wife duo, began baking from their rented home near Edgbaston Cricket Stadium. With the world craving joy and connection, they started sharing treats with neighbours to lift spirits, and the response was overwhelming.
What started in a home kitchen quickly grew into a fully online bakery, delivering handcrafted cakes across Birmingham and Solihull. Today, we operate from a 2,000-square-foot production space, still holding tight to that same spirit of joy, generosity, and celebration.
For Mr. Kandanchira, growing up in a large family in rural South India, celebration was a way of life. As a teen, he picked up the basics of baking while helping out at a neighbour’s family-run bakery. Years later, after moving to the UK to pursue a Master’s degree in Business at University of Staffordshire, his first job was at Mr. Kipling Manor Bakery, where his love for the craft only deepened. Moving away from his close-knit family meant missing many birthdays, weddings, and shared moments. Over time, that absence created a burning desire to give others what he had missed—celebrations full of joy, connection, and sweet memories.
Kamila, a trained cosmetologist with an eye for detail and a deep love for aesthetics, brought her creativity to life managing Party Fiesta in Westfield Stratford City, London’s biggest party store. Surrounded by colour, celebration, and joyful chaos, she developed a sharp instinct for what makes a party unforgettable. Together, their shared passion for bringing people joy and their own life experiences gave rise to The Cravery cake Birmingham, a place where artistry, flavour, and heart come together to help others celebrate fully and beautifully.
While Mr. Kandanchira leads our marketing and business growth, it’s Kamila who brings The Cravery cake Birmingham to life each day. She runs the bakery with heart, vision, and hands-on leadership, creating a warm, uplifting space where talented mums not only bake, but truly thrive. It’s more than just a workplace, it’s a place where women feel valued, supported, and proud of what they create.
